These offerings include Yoga & Meditation to calm the mind and nurture inner peace, Grief Circles to foster community and understanding, and Angelversary Rituals to honor the memory of loved ones. Our specific Grief Yoga® support sessions invite the transformation of grief, sadness, and loss into joy, love, and connection while our Soul Midwifery services provide spiritual and emotional support during life’s final chapter for a peaceful transition.
Additionally, our transformative Workshops and Retreats offer opportunities for reflection, renewal, and growth. The soothing presence of music adds an extra layer of tranquility to our work. Our professional musicians create a holistic approach to healing and our live flute music provides serenity and/or joy to memorial or remembrance services. Our approach emphasizes personalized care, ensuring that every offering resonates with your unique needs and circumstances which is why many of our offerings can be 1-on-1, in a group, online, or in-person. We understand that healing is not one-size-fits-all; it’s an evolving journey. Through gentle guidance, thoughtful tools, and heartfelt connection, our offerings help you move toward greater ease, whether in life or as part of life’s transition. At Soul’s Lighthouse, we honor your story, your pain, and your resilience, creating a sanctuary where healing and peace can flourish.

soul midwifery/End of life
Soul Midwifery is precious and sacred work in which personalized, bedside support and love is offered to the dying’s whole person: mind, body, and spirit. The dying is THE most important person in the world and we offer a safe space to communicate a perfect passing plan freely without judgment.
“We help people to die WHOLE instead of with a HOLE.” – Krista Hughes – Certified Soul Midwife
It is both practical and spiritual in nature but has absolutely nothing to do with religion unless the person requests a religious ritual in their passing plan. Practical support is given by offering love, listening, holding space, talking, reassuring, discussing the dying’s “perfect” death, and so much more. As the body diminishes, the dying person begins a spiritual blossoming, of which, the Soul Midwife gently guides. Deep spiritual care based on love sets the scene for the dying’s peaceful and dignified death based on their wishes.
We walk with the dying to their end of life, through their death, and then offer ongoing spiritual support to their spirit. We share supportive rituals throughout the process with the family that can offer love during and after the difficult loss.
Rituals support and seek wholeness for the dying and may include:
- Witnessing of Soul Wounds (regrets, resentments, anger, etc)
- Creation of Perfect Death
- Grief and Dying Education – what to possibly expect
- Meditation
- Breathwork
- Essential Sacred Oils
- Grief Movement
- Music
- Writing/Recording your story
- Life Review – What did you do, most proud of, biggest thing you’d change, etc
Grief Yoga®/Support
At Soul’s Lighthouse, our private and group Grief Yoga® classes offer a gentle, healing approach to the emotional and physical challenges that arise during times of grief and loss. Grief and pain can put us at a place of disconnection with our bodies, emotional self, and others, often times, without us even knowing it.
Your Grief Yoga® Support session is a compassionately transformative practice specifically tailored to meet you where you are in your grief journey. It uses breath, movement and sound to release the heaviness of grief and pain to open us up to more joy, love, and connection. We get curious about our pain and, in welcoming it in rather than resisting it, encourage emotional release, promote physical ease, and cultivate space for healing.
The practice is accessible to anybody regardless of experience or physical limitation, can be done in a chair or on the floor, and can be in person or virtual over Zoom. We will often utilize writing prompts to get us focused at the beginning or end of the sessions.
Required items:
- yoga mat and/or chair
- journal and pen/pencil
Other recommended items:
- bolster or pillow

Grief Circles
Our Grief Circles create a sacred space where individuals can gather to share their experiences, emotions, and stories in a supportive community. These circles are rooted in the understanding that grief is a universal yet deeply personal and unique journey. Grief isolates us from others and ourselves and a grief circle fosters a safe space for connection and empathy. It offers participants the opportunity to process loss, find comfort, and draw strength from others in their own way and in their own time. Guided by a compassionate facilitator, these gatherings blend storytelling, reflection, and speaking about death and loss to nurture healing and remind participants that they are not alone in their journey.
A Grief Circle is not counseling nor a place to give advice to one another. We tend to get more than enough advice from others when we are grieving and it is not always helpful. In the circle, it brings ease to know that you can say whatever you are feeling in a non-judgmental zone and know that there won’t be any “you should/shouldn’t” being said to you afterward. Instead, it is a comforting place to remember and honor, share your story, or hold space for others as a listener, and allow your pain to be witnessed.
“Sometimes we need someone to just listen. Not to try and fix anything or offer alternatives, but to just be there…to listen. An ear that listens can be medicine for a heart that hurts.” – Steve Maraboli

Angelversary support circles
A few weeks after my father died, no one seemed to ask about him anymore because they don’t want to upset me. For me, however, it was as if my dad died twice; one physical death and now, emotionally, as the memories I held of him were bottled up in my broken heart with nowhere to go. When the Angelversary (anniversary of the passing) comes around, others may have forgotten, but you haven’t. You may sit in silence alone and disconnected. You may long for someone to ask about your loved one so you can share memories; long for their memory to live on.
Our Angelversary Support Circle is a compassionate space to transform your pain into a loving remembrance, fostering a continued connection to loved ones who have passed. These circles are a beautiful 15 minutes of safe, held space where we open with a short poem or story, there can be a candle lighting, and then we sit in silent support for you and in remembrance of your loved one. If you’d like, you are offered an opportunity to share a memory, story, or something that was special about your loved one at the end.
You are welcome to send the Zoom link to others to join with you to sit in connection and remembrance. If they are unable to attend virtually, invite them to set an alarm and send a special thought for you and your loved one who has passed at the time of our meeting.
Our Angelversary Support Circles are free offerings from our heart to yours. There is an opportunity for you to share a donation and, although they are appreciated, they are NEVER expected.
After you schedule, we will ALWAYS check back in with you closer to the date of your loved ones Angelversary to be sure that you'd still like this offering. Your grief may require something else for you as time gets closer, and we honor that it is always your choice in how you grieve and remember.

Music
Music is powerful and is incorporated into Soul’s Lighthouse in a variety of ways. Specialized, unique playlists are created for private sessions and for Soul Midwifery students. Music can be used, both recorded and live with the ultimate goal to always assist in a soul’s healing. We even offer specific support to those planning a memorial service or celebration of life.
The Jacksonville Flute Duo is a professional musical group made up of the founder of Soul’s Lighthouse, Charity Haney, and Bethany Atwell. Our performing ensemble was created to share our love and passion for high quality music with the community. Together, we have over 42 years of experience performing.
We have a large repertoire with various styles of music for you to choose from. Depending on time and if our schedules will allow, it may be possible for us to arrange a special piece that you would like to have played. We are also very experienced in creating programs and then discussing them with you in lieu of you needing to make so many decisions. From traditional hymns to more upbeat favorites, the musical experience that we bring to the memorial service, celebration of life, etc will exude respect and honor for the soul that has passed and offer you, your family, and friends an opportunity for peace, warmth, inspiration, and beauty.
